Odyssey Adventure MX was born from a simple conviction: travel should transform, not just entertain. Based in Playa del Carmen, we design private tours and cultural expeditions across Mexico — from the summits of its volcanoes to the Riviera Maya’s Caribbean coast. Odyssey blends adventure travel, nature, and history into what we call the Hybrid Experience: understanding a place through its people, its territory, and its story. We don’t design tours for tourists. We craft expeditions for travelers.
Meet the Founder: César “Odiseo” Bautista
César Bautista is a historian and professional tour guide with eight years of experience leading travelers across Mexico, from the high summits of Iztaccíhuatl and Pico de Orizaba to the cenotes, jungles and ancient Maya cities of the Yucatán Peninsula. He has also worked as a local fixer for international journalists, including National Geographic’s coverage of the Maya Train.
For César, a ruin is not just a photo stop and a mountain is not just a summit. Every route he designs is meant to help travelers understand what they are seeing: who built it, who lives there today, and why it matters.
Where We Operate
Our home base is Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo. From here we run private day experiences across the Riviera Maya — Tulum, Akumal, Sian Ka’an, Ek Balam and the cenotes of the jungle — with hotel pickup in Playa del Carmen, Tulum and the surrounding area, using our own vehicle with federal tourism plates.
Beyond the Caribbean, our network of local guides, drivers and hosts, built over years on the road, allows us to operate high-mountain expeditions departing from Mexico City, multi-day journeys across the country, and small-group trips abroad.
